Ellis is my sunshine. Some would say he was severely disabled, I would say he was the most able person I knew, as he did not need, did not scorn or compain, but smiled and giggled through a life of burdens.
Ellis died aged 14 years, but every morning when the sunshine shines on my face, Ellis is there.
When a butterfly passes he is passing me by.
When I close my eyes I saee him dancing with angels..

The path of life has taken me, down many a winding road
And when at times, I lost my way, you'd help me share the load
You picked me up each time I fell, and wiped away the pain
I never had to wonder, if there'd be sunshine after rain
I believed in new tomorrows, that would follow yesterday
That I'd always have that second chance, for things to go my way
But today you took my child Lord, and surely you must see
The agony deep within my soul, as you take him away from me
Don't you see how much I love him, this surely cannot be true
For you have so many Angels Lord, that live in heaven with you
He was my drink of water, my heaven here on earth
And I held and rocked and loved him, from the moment of his birth
This time you gave me a mountain Lord, I don't know if I can climb
For I truly thought I'd have him, until the end of time
Will he be your special Angel Lord, that you could not live without?
Your plan must have good reason, of that I have no doubt
Take my heart sweet Jesus, and hold it in your hands
I surrender my child as a gift to you, if this is your command
For your Father is my God almighty, who also lost his child
That we'd be saved he gave us, his lamb so meek and mild
I place him gently in your care, as Angels cry with me
Take care of my baby Lord, through all eternity

It's sure to be the best one yet,
Though you left us here behind.
Did you think that we'd forget?
Your cake this year, will surely be,
A beauty to behold.
With the icing made of Silver,
And the candles made of Gold.
Yes, your birthday in Heaven,
Will be such a grand affair.
And I know you'll look so lovely,
With a halo in your hair.
The Angels will come from everywhere,
To sing your birthday song.
And I know they'll be so happy,
That you've joined, God's Happy Throng.
No I can't send a card this year,
Or give a gift so fine.
So I'll just send a special prayer,
To that wonderful Son of yours.

A meeting was held quite far from earth,
Time again for another birth,
Said the Angels to the Lord above
This special child will need a lot of love.
Their progress may be very slow
Accomplishments they may not show
And they'll require special care
From the folks they'll meet way down there .
They may not run or laugh or play
Their thoughts my seem so far away
In many ways they won't adapt
And they'll be known as Handicapped.
So lets be careful where they're sent
We want their life to be content,
Please Lord find the Mother who
Will do this special job for you.
She will not realise straight away,
The leading role she'll have to play
But with this child sent from up above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon she'll know the privilege given
In caring for this Gift from Heaven.
This precious child so meek and mild

O Dancing Butterfly...........
The beautiful butterfly came dancing by,
Then he flew way up into the clear blue sky.
He was dancing and he was wonderful and proud
This my darling was surely a sign that you were around.
His wings were made of pure white lace
He was flying free, he danced right past my face
His beauty was so clear for all of us to see
I know he was a wonderful gift from you to me.
Thank you sweet Angel for your gift of love
I know you sent it down from heaven above
A dancing butterfly to make me smile
To show your spirit lives on is so worthwhile ...
